Computers vary in size and capacity. We have four different types of computer, classified according to their performance, power, and size:

Supercomputers
A supercomputer is an incredibly powerful computer that can solve very complex problems and do calculations really, really fast. It’s like a brainy superhero of the computer world.
Mainframes
Mainframes are big computers that can handle lots of tasks at the same time. They’re like the bosses of the computer world, managing important stuff for big companies.
Minicomputers
Minicomputers are medium-sized computers that are stronger than regular computers but not as huge as mainframes. They’re like the Goldilocks of computers – not too big, not too small.
Microcomputers
Microcomputers are small computers that we use every day, like laptops, desktops, and tablets. They’re like your personal helpers for typing, playing games, and surfing the internet. The common type of microcomputers are like those below:
- Desktop is a computer with a computer case, a keyboard, a mouse, and display devices like a monitor, projector, or television that fits on or under a desk and stays at one location.
- Laptop is a small computer with boasting processing power, memory, and storage capacity that is designed to be portable.
- Tablet is a mobile device that typically has a touchscreen interface and is smaller than a notebook computer but larger than a smartphone.
- Smartphone is a mobile phone that has many functions similar to that of a laptop. It has a touchscreen smaller than a tablet. It is very easy to carry and can fit into pockets.
